A COURAGEOUS attitude and devotion brought final year Dance and Professional Practice student, Evelyn Tuul, to put together a dance company through which she will present her final Uni performance as well.
WhichWay Dance Company, which presents a combination of a short movement film and a contemporary dance performance called The Now that will be held in Ellen Terry Dance Theatre (Former Odeon Cinema, Coventry) on Tuesday 11 May at 6.30pm, was established by its artistic director and Evelyn, who says: “It’s an autobiographical work that is drawn from my undergoing life experience in the UK including the challenges I had to face and barriers I have broken through to get adjusted to a new culture.”
Evelyn created her work through self-observation whilst examining her own movement and noting it. Dancing started as a hobby for her and after a serious knee injury and several surgeries it was a doomed dream. Still, she will finish her course in summer and is now seen by others as a professional dancer. Having been brought up in a small Estonian town called Tartu; Evelyn intends to express her breakthrough in her performance.
