World Journalism in Crisis Conference on ITunes

ON THE 28th of October Coventry University hosted the World Journalism in Crisis? Conference which featured esteemed speakers from the world of journalism including; Jeff Jarvis, Jeremy Paxman, Nick Davies and many more. Now the entire event is available on free podcasts from Coventry Universities Itunes U site.

The speakers were all asked the same question, is there a crisis in Journalism? What is it? And what can we do about it?

The speakers all gave their own insights into the issues that world journalism faces; BBC Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman blamed a saturated market and lack of original journalism for the problems in the industry, Professor Jeff Jarvis cam live via video link from New York and played down the issue of a crisis within journalism and rather considered the opportunity for entrepreneurial journalism and the end of old models of institutionalised reporting.

Other speakers addressed the jobs crisis in journalism and the failing business models of online outlets. Now all ten speakers are available for free download to continue the debate.
